Refresh Your Skin With a Custom Chemical Peel in Houston

A chemical peel is an excellent way to refresh and rejuvenate wrinkled, spotted, or otherwise aged skin's youthful appearance. A unique chemical solution is applied to the skin to remove damaged outer layers and expose underlying fresh, smooth, unblemished skin.

Chemical peels use a concentration of acid to remove dead skin cells and help stimulate new cell growth. During your consultation, we can help determine the right peel for your skin. At Texas Facial Plastic Surgery, we offer several chemical peels, including TCA Peels and the VI Peel. This non-invasive treatment reveals smoother, more clear layers of skin.

Your Chemical Peel Treatment

The treatment begins by applying the peels on clean, dry skin. Some peels will be applied, and then you'll remove them a few hours later, while others take multiple applications. If yours requires more than one layer, you'll be resting comfortably in one of our treatment rooms for the duration of the procedure. If it is a single application, you will be able to return home and then wash the peel off yourself a few hours later. During the procedure, you may feel some tingling or a burning sensation as the peel begins working. After the peel is removed, this sensation will stop, and you'll be able to resume most activities.

Benefits of Chemical Peels

Chemical peels can be applied to the face, hands, neck, back, or chest to renew skin and help remove dead skin cells. Chemical peels can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, improve the appearance of scars, help with acne or acne scarring, and reduce age spots and darker patches of skin. Another benefit of chemical peels is improved skin texture. After the healing process, the skin will be smoother and more supple.

Your Peel Choices

The TCA Peel

The TCA peel comes in varying strengths from low to high and is applied by a skincare professional. It is made from trichloroacetic acid, which is also known as TCA. This peel takes about 30 minutes to apply and is left on for several hours before you can wash it off.

The VI Peel

The VI Peel is a medium-strength peel that is made from a combination of acids. The peel takes about 30 minutes to apply and is done with two layers of product. It is then kept on for about four to six hours and removed by you at home.
